10 million crazy gamers download Angry Birds Rio in just 10 days

Are the worldwide gamers feeling monotony over the latest game of Angry Birds? Not at all! To your utmost surprise, this ‘sequel’ to the original was debuted before just 10 days, and in this brief duration, it’s been downloaded 10 million times by the excited gamers. The news about this heating up craze was revealed by a Tweet on the official Rovio Twitter feed, that stated: “10 in 10:-) Angry Birds Rio breaking all records. A massive thanks to all our fans!!!”

This figure includes the paid downloads on iOS, which commands the price of $1 each, as well as  free downloads available on Android. Rovio execs clarified that they aren’t charging for the Android version due to immensely low sales numbers on the Android Market for the developers. It reflects the constantly increasing passion of gamers towards the Angry Birds, no matter that now three versions of the game are on the go, which include original version, new Rio edition, and Angry Birds Seasons game, which was recently updated with new St Patrick's Day levels.

Angry Birds Rio ties into an upcoming animated movie, Rio, which is set to be released this month. The gameplay also follows the pattern of earlier games in the series, only with one major difference,  no pigs at all.

Thus Angry Birds Rio is even surpassing the popularity of the first sequel to Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons. It's worthwhile to note here that Seasons hit just 1 million downloads in 6 days. You mast have remembered that Angry Birds Rio had created a sensation in the Android community when it was confirmed that it was coming out first, and was the flagship app of Amazon’s new Amazon Appstore, which is a third-party Amazon app marketplace set to outsmart Google’s official Android Market.

During the first half of game you'll search the colorful birds free of their cages, which also include two of the main characters of film, Blu and Jewel. In the second half part of game, you get an animal enemy to dive-bomb, in form of wicked monkeys.

Angry Birds Rio entered the market on the same time, when other movie-themed update of a much-lauded Apple iPhones game Doodle Jump rolled out. It's a new version based on another family movie, Hop, and is available free on the all App Stores.
