Facebook has recently launched an innovative version of its mobile optimized website, which claims to provide “The best possible mobile web experience irrespective of what gadget you’re using.”
Till yet, Facebook was running two primary mobile websites, which include touch. facebook.com for high-end smartphones and m.facebook.com for feature phones. But now on-wards Facebook will provide a unified site to cater to all mobile phones by unifying its mobile presence on m.facebook.com. With this re-jigged website, users possessing high-end touchscreen enabled gadgets will experience a rich touch-friendly interface. Additionally, the users with feature phones will find the site great both in terms of look and work.
Erik Tseng, Facebook’s head of mobile development, states: “We are internalizing our own strategies around the HTML5 to prove that this accent on the mobile Web can work in reality. This innovative method of mobile development will prioritize the web site in stead of native apps. This will also provide the Facebook users access across a wide range of gadgets.”
Facebook further stated that their service is currently being accessed by more than 250 million users on mobile devices.
